In a move that can only be described as "paranoid and pandering", or paranandering, which is a word this author made up just now to establish himself as having an "outside of the box" and "zany" approach to writing, Xbox One manufacturer Microsoft offered a carefully worded apology to pedantic geeks across the world who noticed that the company's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt stream featured footage from the PC version of the game instead of the Xbox One version. The obvious backpedal made it's way from the top of the Microsoft hierarchy to the bottom in a matter of hours, presumably packaged in a neon green envelope and handled by a skateboarder wearing a backwards red cap, who skated the message between the byzantine halls of the company's R…

In a move certain to terrify unsuspecting jocks the world over, Marvel mastermind Stan Lee has teamed up with fellow nerd king/expert sidekick Steve Wozniak, to bring a brand new meeting of the fans to nerd-dom's electro-pulsing capital citadel: Silicon Valley.

The aptly-named Silicon Valley Comic Con will take place at the San Jose Convention Center from March 19th to 20th, in 2016.

In the above video, which accompanied the announcement, a Segwey-riding star-dancer Facetimes with Solid Snake's genetically-spliced brother about putting a bunch of people and stuff into a giant room and inviting the world to stand in line to gawk at the lot of it. Newzoo, a games industry research firm, has released a chart ranking the publicly traded companies that made the most money off of video games in 2014. It's part of their annual fiscal report – and it's also a sobering reminder that things have changed and/or are changing fast. Feel free to jump to wild conclusions about the general trajectory of the games industry.

Tech behemoth's like Apple and Google joined the ranks of the world's largest publicly traded software and hardware manufacturers. Tencent, the Chinese owner of League of Legends developers Riot Games, reported a whopping $7.2B in revenue in 2014, up from $5.3B in 2013, proving futile Valve's attempts at throwing a wrench in the MOBA's rise to world domination (Valve will be fin…

EA has offered up the first taste of the long-awaited followup to the Star Wars Battlefront franchise with a teaser trailer showcasing in-engine footage of rebels doing battle with imperials in the lush forests of Endor. Some may be dismayed by the lack of gameplay footage (the game is, after, scheduled to launch relatively soon – November 17th, for PS4, PC, and Xbox One), but if the animations, textures, and lighting look half as good from a third/first person perspective, there's a good chance everything will be just fine.

A montage at the end provided glimpses of additional locales, including what look like Hoth and Tatooine. The game is set to take place during the original trilogy and even allows players to travel to a planet from Epis…
